I was jus wondering if anyone out there has tried the new Flaming River "bolt on easily in just hours to the factory locations" rack an pinion steering unit. Supposedly better feel and power like feeling out of manual steering. (try that with some monster meat on the rims) anyways, anybody got it? is it worth a shot? How much is it? all that jazz

in my most recet mustangs plus catalog, they have a flamin river rack and tilt steering column for $1300 or so. It ays that it includes everything for the swap. I wonder if it includes a new steering box!

You don't have a steering box with rack & pinion... :p

As much as I hate the idea of tearing into my "66 again, this kits looks real interesting!

 But If someone is using it let us know. :)

I want to make space for a supercharger But don't wish to loose the A/c.

If I move to a new style a/c pump thats moved down to where the p/s pump was.
Then I can use the mounting point from the old a/c pump,Making it line up with the top of the motor and still have space to work with.
Of course the modern parts are an option, but...

You could always use the old parts too. My car came with factory power steering and air conditioning, both units fit on the drivers side of the motor. You'll also need an alternator bracket (to lower it) from a california car that had the smog pump (like mine). I took those four accessories off my car and am only running the alternator now.
