I'm putting a 99 5.0 from an explorer in my 69 mustang. The explorer had a 4r70w auto trans so I got a c4 trans with a large bellhousing which I thought would work with the 4r70w flexplate but it doesn't. I pretty sure the converter is all the way in but it will not bolt to the engine. The flexplate sticks out 1" from the back of the engine. Does that seem right??
