Flowmasters SUCK, why did I buy?

After a short amount of time the Mufflers have a slightly diffrent tone, usually a little louder, at this point they are known to be "Broken In"

Just chiming in with everyone else....
kill the turn downs and go with tail pipes no matter what mufflers...
and cherry bombs? Don't those belong on primered 4 door '78 Novas?

The exhuast will coat the mufflers when they're new, little bit of carbon and stuff, then they start sounding different.

My Flow's drone at 2200rpm and then are dead silent above 2500rpm. My droning is no where near as bad as what everyone else complains about, but I have cats.

I appreciate the comments. I think I am passing on the bullets. I think I will key in on the tails. I know that the difference between the tailpipes on, with the O/R pipe and then JUST the O/R pipe with no tails (what a drive that was), was incredible. I thought for sure a ticket was on the way. I am going to price shop on the kits. Thanks guys....

Just go to your local muffler shop and have them make some tails for you. Doesn't cost that much, at least not around here, and the fit is perfect, as well as the warranty.

The break in for an all metal muffler depends on the amount of heat being distributed into the muffler, kinda like hardening steel by heating it up and cooling it down really fast. It deffinately changes the exhaust note, but usually louder. hope that helps.

Let's do... then I can tell my story about a buddy who talked another buddy into going to the car wash and spraying a buttload of water up his z28s new exhaust system to "break" it in. All it did was make for one helluva a nice set of water cannons when he stomped on it.

Midas will work, but I have found that they are more expensive than the local shop. I am speaking of a local shop, probably titled "__________ brake & muffler" with the ________ representing the name of your city/county/town/whatever.

my settup consists of mac 1 5/8 longtubes from there i go straight to 2 1/2 pro dumps and I love it. Maybe i'm weird but I love the sound !!
