FlowTech Full Legnth Headers...

A buddy of mine just bought some FlowTech full legnth headers for the 85 GT he is building, and he called Holley/FlowTech to find out what mid-pipe to use and they told him that they didnt have any listed mid pipes that would fit. He wants to get an X-pipe for it but wants to make sure it will all fit. Are the FlowTech headers different in that another companies (BBK, MAC, Bassani) H or X pipe wont fit? or can he use whatever he wants w/o trouble?

the headers should be 12104FLT or 32104FLT for ceramic coated , the H pipe part number is 53608FLT and X pipe is 53628FLT and bolts up to the long tube flowtechs , their catalog only list them for 86-93 is why , only the carbureted 85 models had the true dual exhaust and double hump cross member that clears the H or X pipes ........

yeah that would explain it, he isnt as into stangs as most of us on here, but he has owned this car for awhile and is now freshening it up, it was a daily driver for a long time. he wouldnt know to ask for 86-up parts...

my only other question would be if any other brands of h/x pipe will also fit the Flow Techs? He wants cats and I looked them up and see that they dont offer catted pipes...

and actually all the 85 models had single hump crossmembers and the dual-single-dual setup, 86 was the first year for true duals with double-hump.
