For All Of You K&N FIPK Disbelievers

Got my car on teh road this past week, and the only performance mod I have been able to get to so far is the K&N Intake.

I am very happy with the results here. There is definitly a lot more high-end power,shifting into third around 80 MPH (automagic), there just feels like A LOT more kick. I can't tell the low-end power just because there was always a ton of torque there anyways. but definitly worth the money, I can't wait to get to the track to see some numbers.

The only thing that bothered me was the install, tight fit and all, plus had to drill a 11/16" hole for the temperature gauge. But nothing that couldn't be taken care of.

we'll believe you when we see dyno numbers, a pull without it, and then a pull right after you install it

no but i hear ya, glad you feel some more power up top with it. of course I got the MAC cold air a LOOOONG time ago and that thing just SUCKS, it hurts your HP IF ANYTHING what I'm doing next is the accufab TB/Plenum and then getting my ECU flashed by tim @ T&J

it's only adding like 3% HP
how can you feel that

I can definitly feel it when the car shifts into thrids, it is MUCH quicker 50-100+ than it was before

yea dude you are suffereing from the psychological effects of the mod. you think you feel a lot more power from that little thing but the most you've gained is 5rwhp.

I pulled out the silencer on the wifes Gt and the car actually felt faster. Took it to the track it ruan the exact same times. The sound increase without the silencer can make the car feel much faster. It makes a hell of a wail when you floor it without the silencer. I think the benefit was entirely psychological though.

gee, real scientific proof has now arrived. who needs dynos or track runs. lets just let this guy tell us how much power mods add. we all know dynos and actual runs are nowhere close to accurate anyway.

while I have no dobut that you think you got better preformance from the FIPK I would have to agree with everone else. Almost every two months I have to read in the two mags I buy about the next great CAI. I see the dyno numbers that they put up and yeah the numbers change to a small degree. If you belive that then you would be over 300hp from ten 200 dollar bolt on's. but hell what else could you really buy for the money? Add that up and I can afford a super charger. I'm not saying that the parts aren't worth it but you will never convince me that they give you anythng more than a SOTP increase. I have a bunch of those parts. I like them but also know two things now, 1.) My best mod was the new motor 2.) My next mod is NOS or supercharger!!!!!!!
