Ford Performance/Ford Racing Shortblock- Who assembles these for Ford?

Wonding if anyone knows who puts these together for Ford? I saw in their "sealed engine handbook" that it mentions Robert Yates as being a machining source, at least on the cylinder heads.

I'm looking at their 347 short block so I thought someone here may know.

I've seen what Woody offers. It's a great value. I think the Ford product is too. They are both about the same price right now. The only differences I can see for sure is that the Ford block may not have the same max HP capacity if a power adder was in play and I don't think Woody uses the same 1mm, 1mm, 2mm ring pack Mahle piston set that the Ford unit uses.

I don't think Blueprint zero balances their rotating assemblies. Or sell short blocks. They also quote a 6500 RPM upper RPM limit on their stuff. I'd like to make peak power above that point.

Depends on how much $$ you wanna spend. Max effort deal no doubt Fordstrokers or ZSR. Street car, I'm doing a Blueprint 347 for half the price.
They handle things great but they can be bit of hit or miss. I am in a big block Chevy group for them and I see a lot of mixed reviews. I was looking at possibly a 540 for my 66 belair

If they would just sell their block I would buy one. I read they said they are good for 700 hp. I would pay in the $900 range for the block as it would fit my existing 331 build perfectly. Want to switch to a solid roller and I need a better than stock block to do that as I’m at the 500 fwhp level now.

I have the correct hood on my new project for a BB, but they are way too expensive... I did see some guy talk about using a 454 instead of a more expensive 396 or 427.. Prices on the BBC stuff is crazy..

Here's a question for ya:

I don't know how many parts you've accumulated for this project so far but...

What is the cost these days, for a Dart Sportsman (or equivalent) and the machine work necessary to drop in your desired rotating assembly...

--vs--

...and dropping in your desired rotating assembly?

What would it cost to get the forged crankshaft in this engine, zero balanced?

It's been a while since I've had to build an engine. I can only imagine what it costs now for the [entire] process.

Not worth it when you can spend the money once and just buy one from one of the reputable engine builders done already

On accident I ended up with another 396 - that is the right suffix code for a full size 65-66 belair

.030 over / scat rod / steel gm crank
063 heads with bigger valves all fresh
All arp hardware
Edelbrock 2-0 intake
Roller rockers
.581/585 240/246 110lsa comp cam

Should run decent for what it is behind the 3000 stall and 4l80e

I wonder because I have a more than $10k in my engine and that's from [years] ago.

$7K for an engine and swapping out the rotating assy in an already machined 4-bolt, cast block... :chinHmmm...

What's cost out-the-door from "The reputable engine builders"?
