Has anybody tried this combo? I've had the FRPP 70mm TB for sometime and just installed the 80mm C&L MAF because I screwed up my stock MAF. I just recently bought the C&L plenum. However, I would replace either piece to get the right combo to make maximum hp. I just want to make sure that no one has ruled out this combo before I go and bolt everything together.
Thanks

SUPPOSEDLY the C & L Plenum will make more power with a 75mm TB. However I can't recall seeing any dyno graphs to back that up. So what you might want to do is Ebay your FRPP TB and buy the Accufab 75mm TB

I'm about to match the FRPP T-Body against the Accufab plenum, but the Accufab plenum is suppost to be matched to a 70 from what I have read. The FRPP T-Body measures at bit over 70 though (behind the plate anyway)... I wouldn't bother changing to a 75 if I were you.

the c&l loses about 40cfm with the 70mm tb. the trickflow plenum flows more air than the c&l with a 70mm. I would sell either the plenum or tb and then get one that matches. basically you are just kind of mismatched right now.

I'm kind of curious about the larger T-body issue. I had the FRPP 70mm throttle in the past with my stock plenum. I lost a significant amount of low end torque. I sold the 70 at the time, but recently put on the Accufab plenum. Matched w/ the stock T-body, low end torque was noticeably improved. Just acquired another FRPP 70mm and see how that goes as well. However, based on my previous results, I'm worried I'll lose low end torque yet again. Has anyone put on the plenum w/ the stock T-body, only to change to a 70-75mm later? Were the results positive?? Sorry to hijack 35 LE Gt, but I think this question can help us both. Being able to flow more air doesn't always equal more HP; I hope I'm wrong in this application though.

ok i had the C & L Plenum on for a while with the stock 65mm TB...when i put the 75mm TB on, i noticed gains, and i know i cant quantify it but i will still say that i feel that there is more tq and hp at the wheels than before.

Don't mind at all Todd. If the stock TB flows more than the 70 or 75 with the after market plenum, well then, I'd like to know. I kept my stock TB when I changed to the 70, so I could just slap it back on if that's the case. I don't want to go through this exercise but one time, so I thought I'd research it first. However, it just seems that common sense would tell you that a larger TB would flow more air. But who knows, I'm no engineer.

here is some good reading. it is not dyno data but plenum flow. if you look at the c&l there is a big spike in airflow with the 75mm tb. If you already have a 70mm the accufab is the way to go hands down.

what kind of flow numbers do you see from just p&p on a stock plenum?

Thanks for posting that, but I've already read it. That article is why I bought the Accufab. Though the dyno graphs show now loss of torque, I would really feel a lot better if people have FELT no loss of low end torque. Guess I've been scared away from 70mm's from my previous experience. I'll find out soon either way

Accufab Plenum Best match 70-75mm

From my research thats what I came up with.

Plenum combo

I have the C&L plenum w/ the ford 70mm TB. I love it and it works great! You have increased torque with the 70mm.

I'm not doubting you, but do you have numbers to back that up or is it seat of the pants? I'm gonna make a decision one way or the other tonight. Just wondering.

you will gain even more torque with the 75mm.

I don't know about your FRPP T-body, but mine is 70mm at the inlet, and 72mm behind the blade.
