ford racing fans.......

i got a few questions about the ford racing parts and there performance......

Now i do NOT want a alphabet cam.

but i realy realy want a cobra intake and GT40 heads. anybody educated on these parts and could give me the average hp gains with 1.7 rockers and a cam slightly more aggressive then a E cam.

my goal is the cheapest most reliable daily driver that makes 300rwhp and many ppl told me that this is the way to go.

so with that being said GT40heads is there different kinds of them? what are the average increases over E7's?

and im pretty well educated on the cobra intake..

It would be pretty hard to hit 300 rwhp with a Cobra intake and GT-40 heads. There are 4 different GT-40 heads that I know of, they are: GT-40 stock on the SVT Cobra, GT-40P, GT-40Y, and GT-40X. The "Y" and "X" heads are aluminum with the "X" being the better of the two. They just don't flow nearly as well as say Trickflow, Edelbrock, and especially AFR. You don't need a big cam either, really, you just need one that matches the parts you're going to use. For example if a head makes max flow around .500 lift (all GT-40's) why go with a cam with more than that? As far as duration, you don't need a lot of that either. The e-cam has plenty of duration (282 intake/exhaust). That being said, GT-40 heads would still be a huge increase in power over the stock E7's, especially when matched with a Cobra intake and a decent camshaft.
