so "he" being a Stangnet talk posse member decided he’d take charge of what foxmustangman had done prior with FOTM and take over ; and of course the Stangnet posse and some other members agreed with his decision.

Regardless of my status of being a regular member or Posse member doesn't give me any super stangnet powers where I can do whatever I'd like. I do not recall who agreed or disagreed with me bringing stability to the contest. However, I do recall that SEVERAL of us had been upset at the number of FOTM threads going up that month and how completely unorganized the entire process had been. At the time, I had the ability to conduct the FOTM to avoid chaos (such as April's events) and shared my idea's for more of structure for it.

Actually, I stepped down from running it months ago. If you're so concerned, I asked FrankenStang to conduct The FOTM contest as I have been on more military training for my upcoming deployment. Actually as far as I'm aware, GTOReturns (WHO IS NOT A POSSE MEMBER) maintains it and FrankenStang acts as a back up.

So my thought on this FOTY is this since foxmustangman was doing such a bad job in April and obviously the prior months lets just eliminate Jan, Feb and March FOTM also that way we’re all playing on the same field with Turkey Sammich &~FrankenStang~ running the show... That way eliminating any of foxmustangman inadequacies for not running the FOTM correctly.

I have nothing bad to say about foxmustangman. It's quite understandable that not everyone can be on Stangnet all the time or even at set times of the month to maintain a contest that's suppose to be fun. I was not the only one to display disinterest in all the FOTM threads that month. It was clearly a mess in April and something had to be done.

Interesting to see you even congradulated the winner.

I find it odd, that all the sudden now that The FOTM is offering prizes to a FOTM that's voted FOTY, you NOW express this opinion for the events in April and cry that things are unfair. Even after, FrankenStang made a thread to do a re-vote on that month.

The first thing I would like to ask you is did or did you not make your own thread of FOTM in APRIL 2008 knowing that foxmustangman already had taken a poll and there was already a winner, or would you rather have me and a few hundred other Stangnet members believe that you had no prior knowledge and just decided to take over FOTM with a vote from a few others?

(1) Once again back to my original question. Who decided that they would run the show I didn’t see where anyone in any other thread asked you run the FOTM because it’s not being run right, what I saw was I (you) decided that you didn’t like how it was ran and decided you’d run the show .

(2) Us being who… some of the posse? I never once saw that mentioned in any thread until you came up with the idea that you need to run the FOTM. Please direct me to any threads showing where you or any other members posse or not said prior to your take over that they didn’t like the way foxmustangman was running FOTM

(1) So let me get this straight ………. You decided that you needed to get all the Chaos straighten out on FOTM because if you ran the show there would be no more CHAOS? But yet you only did it for a few months (at best) since you said I stepped down months ago?

I’m an X Viet Nam Vet and there is no way in the world that would ever consider that I could run a contest of anything knowing good and well that at any time I could be shipped out .

You find it odd I never said anything before now because Stangnet is offering a Prize, your kidding right? I’ve never said a word because for the past 7 months no one ever mentioned that I won April FOTM up until now!

You need to get your time table straight because FrankenStang made a thread to do a re-vote on that month after I said something, and I’ll assume that had I not said something that Illnotch in your eyes would be the winner because I said congrats to him.

So you are bitching that you didnt win because you had the misfortune of competing during an operator change? If I sent you a gift card for $50 would you get over it?

I never even voted in the FOTM untill several months ago because it was never posted at the same time AND there was usually several threads that all conflicted with each other. Nobody here is perfect but they took time out of their scedual to make the poll better and more reliable. Yes there will be some kind of mistake every now and then but thats life.

You do realize that since its given you such a hard on that now there will prolly be no prize because of the complaining?
Its not enough for you to have the recognition of your peers that you have a nice car? I was trying to get the 4.6 SOTM to be part of this too but it appears while it was a nice thought and very generous of Stangnet to offer a prize that it just aint gonna happen now because someone might sue for not being included in the rain deer games

Bill, you beat me to the post. Due to abundance of drama, I can't say I'm excited about having the contest and subsequent award happen this year. There seems to be a lot of controversy and finger pointing going on about who is eligible and who is not.

If this contest (monthly) happens in 2009, 12 nominees are chosen for Fox of the Year 2009, and the polling is done accordingly, then we can have a sanctioned event and maybe a nice award tied to it.

As for 2008, there was high hope that the contest could yield an exciting reward for participation and winning, but the consistent negativity to this point far overshadows any potential good.

FOTY 2008 can still happen, but I feel there would be the constant shadow of contempt looming about if an award were to be placed upon any given Fox body Mustang on-site.

This thread, as far as I can see, needs to go no further. I'm closing this and if another one is started to get a FOTY 2008 winner, that's quite fine...there just won't be any sanctioned awards presented.

It strikes me as odd that the drama is still going AFTER I started another poll for April 2008. I guess that didn't make a difference so, I'm just going to cancel that poll and let it stand as it is with illnotch as the winner. FOTY 2008 will not happen. THIS IS A STAFF DECISION.

**TAKE NOTE** Starting in 2009, FOTM will be run by ME with GTOReturns as back up. I'm only doing this because it NEEDS to be run religiously in order to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. Nothing personal towards GTO. There will be no arguments and it will be run with organization. It took me a while to get the rules right and to organize this properly. It bugs the crap out of me to do this but, it's done.

NEW RULE: Nominees must be active contributors to Stangnet. This means you must be an active poster on the forums. This rule was decided upon by Staff. It is not negotiable.


This is a closed issue. Do not bring it up in the forum. Infractions will be issued.
