The AC on my 91 vert is cool but not cold so I'm thinking it just needs a charge. This got me to thinking about how or can you tell whether or not an AC system is R12 or has been converted over to R134a. Just curious to know. Thanks
Pull the caps off the fill fittings. If the fittings are threaded its R12. If the fittings are quick connect fittings, its 134a.The AC on my 91 vert is cool but not cold so I'm thinking it just needs a charge. That usually works unless the last person who serviced the A/C cheaped out and took some shortcuts...Pull the caps off the fill fittings. If the fittings are threaded its R12. If the fittings are quick connect fittings, its 134a.
