Fox body in high school

My Fox body was a Lincoln Mark vii. I've owned 3 of them!!! Or was that 4? Built them up...nice and fast. Hell i still have a pin on cowl mark vii hood in the garage. I miss those cars!!! Now i have a 95 mustang. I swear if they made a convertible Mark 7 i would have never gotten a stang and this would be posted on a lincoln board. But my stang has chick appeal. Driving slow allows you to scoop the women and have conversation.

BTW i didnt get laid in highschool :(....I was too busy playing video games and modifying my car. But i sure the hell have made up for it since then!!!

I drove my first fox all through high school. It was a blast, and people knew me for my car. I didn't do anything stupid in the parking lot, but people knew to respect the car. Granted, I live in the town with the highest per-capita income in the country, so it wasn't the nicest car, but people knew the car (and me for it) either way. Granted, it did stick out some....

I had a 88 LX 2.3 as my first car, and right when my junior year started I bought my 89 notch I still have today. I didn't drive it like an ass then(I'll admit, I pretty much didn't know how to) but people still knew me for my car. I have lots of yearbook comments saying stuff like, "Kevin loves chevys!" Girls thought that was cute and funny.

Sure as hell didn't use to live in Orlando then!

I had mine just for my senior year.

Got banned from the 'lot for a couple weeks for doing a doughnut... Whoops. :D

My friends made fun on me then, and still do now. To non-car guys, if it isn't a 1969 or a 2009, it isn't cool. But still, to this day when they are riding in the car, they seem to forget how to talk **** after I lay into the throttle and bang a gear or two. :nice:

Yup, love it when they make fun of it or underestimate it then find out what she ran at the track the weekend before lol :jaw: Yet another of many reasons i love my Fox!!!

Im currently in 11th grade and have drove my fox since 9th, yeah people say "why don't you get a newer car" but all it takes is one ride to shut them up. Also people at my school think the more liters (or V TECH) an engine has the faster the car or truck is, so everyday someone tells me they have a 5.3 or 1.6 v tech and that my 5.0 has no chance, i just tell them whatever helps you sleep at night and smile. I already know my car is faster and don't have to street race and kill myself and/or somebody else to prove it.

Yup...had one in my last year of high-school....and yup, it was the joke of the Student Parking lot.

It didn't help that it was an '83 Mustang L with the 3.8L V6, no hatch spoiler, no radio, a leaky sunroof and custom "desert horizon" paint job with a turd brown interior.

To this day, I still miss that car. Decent power, great gas mileage, stone reliable...ugly as hell! :D

That was the early-90's though. Today it might have been considered "retro" and "cool"

Dude... I would have made fun of that car. :p

well, im know as the kids who loud car sets of car alarms. i love it :D and im in 11th grade as well

i save burnouts for the last day of school leaving the parking lot. people are already asking how were going to outdo our selfs from last year lol. i drive slow in my parking lot though cuz ill be puttzing along at 10mph and someone will say slow down! ( teacher ) i guess when its loud your going fast!!!!

nah but none every talks **** about my car. even people that dont know what it is. the girls think its shinny and to loud. lol. the guys says its to quite. haha. there are aloft of random fast cars at my school. one being a 350whp civic. another being a 360rwhp 350z. and for being twin turbo i think them numbers are low as hell! but hey. then tons of slow 4 banger crap. the only real muscle at my school is a 70 nova SS me and my buddy just finished restoring. its drying in the paint booth right now at his shop lol. a 05 GT. a 96 GT and my 89 lx. there are 2 other 96-98 4.6 gt's but both are auto's and run liike crap. and the kids that drive them, think there hot ****. haha.

I was another guy that hated all the mustang owners back then in high school . . . while thinking I was the better driver 'cause I drove the piss out of my '97 maxima 5spd on windy roads, and never really cared who was quicker in a straight line, especially after I bought my '01 GSX-R 750 . . . Come to think of it, I still don't really respect people who can only go fast in a straight line that much, skill at driving fast in a straight line seems like 1/8 of the equation to me (despite the fact that I'm ignoring my car's horrible suspension in my first mods and just doing h/c/i) . . .

Actually looking back on it, I didn't really hate those people, I was just jealous because I thought I deserved a sexier car because I was a good driver (though the maxima was very quick, I took it up to 150 shortly after I got it); now I know I was more just a maniac than a good driver, though I've never once in my life been passed on a windy road except for when I was driving a borrowed car or when I was limping my wrecked bike home : ( (there's a lot to be said for keeping it on the track . . .)

I graduated in '92 and if you were driving an aero Mustang then had it made since it was a new car and that meant that you had money.

Me, I drove my 1965 convertible during my senior year and got made fun of quite a bit. Never paid much mind to it then. Now when I run into someone I went to high school with one of the first things they ask is if I still have that old 65, which I do. It must have made quite an impression if they remember that car almost 20 years later.

Now I got myself in plenty of trouble with the 65 even though it had a straight 6 engine that put out a whopping 88hp.

Wow, must've been something wrong with me, I didn't, and still don't care what the "cool" people think. In 10 years, half of them will be selling insurance, overweight and balding, you'll see. Course, in 83/84, when I was in the 11th grade, I went in a 69 GTO:D. If you need to respond(and it is a waste of your time to acknowledge their very existence), tell them to shove it sideways, and learn anything about cars. Who told teenagers that they decide whats cool:shrug:?

I got my mustang the summer after my junior year and I have driven it my senior year everyday except when it wasnt running haha. I am known for the kid with the red mustang and i have actually made some friends because of it. I dont really do anything stupid other than rev my engine except for one time i spun the tires when i was leaving and the traffic *itch told the assistant principal on me. I was kinda the talk of the school when i was doing my H/C/I over christmas break because everyone knew it was gonna be pretty fast. I think im pretty much the only kid in the school that can say that they paid for their whole car by themselves which is the best bragging right ever. All the stuck up kids at my school have lifted trucks with not a single ounce of mud on them that their daddy paid for. Apparently they drive big trucks to make up for something that is small.

I got the fox in grade eleven. Drove it for all of 4 days before I got banned from the parking lot. I was trying to show off and got really squirrely on the way out, almost went off the road onto a sidewalk where some people were walking. It was really stupid of me and I instantly learned to respect the car, that was the last time I ever matted it around a corner lol. Every day in auto class the other guys would talk **** to each other all class about how their Silverado 1500 was faster than the cavalier etc. etc. It was never ending, if I'd even chime in about running my car they'd all shut up. I never had a single person in high-school challenge me to a race except one guy telling me about his dads volvo s60. It was respected as the fastest car even though it was nearly bone stock (and still is), nobody had anything really special except one guy with a caddilac. My brother's school was a bit different, he had a buddy who got a Mazda RX-8 for his 16th and when his younger brother turned 16 a year and a half later he gave him the mazda and moved up to a porsche 911 Turbo (His dad then bought himself a maserati to replace it).

I had a 91 LX 5.0 in high school, black on black...next to me on one side was my friend with his silver 88 GT and on the other was my friend with his wicked 88 LX 2.3 turbo. Across the way was a kid who tried to be cool with a dark blue 4banger hatch with dual tailpipes. In the other lot were 2 of my friends, one with an H/C/I 91 GT and another with a green over titanium 92 GT. Also in that lot was a girl with a new (at the time) 01 GT. Shes a stripper now.

Once I saw a kid in town who was a year behind me in school when I was going into a cafe. I pulled up right outside the place and he was loitering just outside the door. He said sarcastically "nice mustang" i said nothing and went in to get my food. coming back out he goes "mustangs suck because everyone has one" my reply "oh really, doesnt that say something about how good they are?" he goes "no, they suck" so i said "ok and what do you drive" his response? "a saturn" HAHA I said "dude, I guarantee that if you walk down this street right here you will see twice as many saturns as mustangs, so i guess saturns suck twice as much" and i got in my car and let my exhaust blow in his face.

the funny/stupid thing is that in my senior yearbook superlatives, nicest car for a girl went to the chick with the 01 GT. Nicest car for a dude...at a school with at least 5 beautiful fox Mustangs and a couple very nice classic pickups...went to a chump with a green 1st gen Miata. WTF?
