fox or sn95??

I am going to sell my car pretty soon (not a vert fan), anyways, i was thinking about either another 87-93 gt or a 95-95 gt, i was wondering what one is quicker, handles better, easy to mod, etc....also would my u/d's work on a sn95?? What about headers??

I do like the interior of an sn95 better, but i think the fox's have a really cool body design, i can't decide, can someone help me....oh, this will be a daily driver.

the SN95's are much tamer and have problems with detonation and such. weight more and put out less HP.

depends what body style you like though.

you gotta keep the vert!

SN95's are heavier than fox's, just depends on what your visual apeal is...94/95 is going to be more "new" (usualy) , fox's are nice...pretty simple and light. Heck, i got one

The SN95, aside from being a bit heavier, is a far superior platform from the factory. Much, much stiffer, lower drag coefficient, better handling, five lug wheels and four wheel brakes, wider track, longer wheelbase. They also give you the option of retaining the familiar 5.0 or going to the modular 4.6, unlike the Fox or the NewEdge stangs. SN95's also debuted the power moonroof option, which I would kill for in my GT (not a vert fan either ) Unfortunately, they never figured out how to make an SN95 hatchback. Parts tend to be a little more expensive, but it's negotiable. You are also much more likely to find one in good shape than a Fox- there are still a lot of one owner SN95's out there, unmolested chick cars and retirement rides right off the dealer lot just waiting to be traded in for a Caddy or a Honda. And as was mentioned, as a whole chicks generally do prefer them too... If I didn't love my Fox so much I'd be looking for a black '98 GT myself, or a red '95 Cobra; but I'm keeping this one forever. Maybe the wife would like one...

the foxes are lighter but that is not what I would call an advantage because they are built like a flimsy honda POS. The SN95's handle much better for the added stiffening.

I don't like the SN95 spaceship looking interior. While I do like the body style I still like the fox body style better also.

Yup. I'm here representing the Sn95's in full force. j/k

All kidding aside, I would like to offer my opinion. Having owned a 91 5.0 LX convertible (auto) and now owning my current 94 GT auto, I can say that each has their own pro's and con's. As mentioned previosuly, the foxes tend to be harder to find in nicer shape than the Sn95's.

The Sn95 is a much more "refined" car if you will. Here are some things off the top of my head that A sn95 has that a fox dosen't:

- 5 lug
- 4 wheel disc brakes w/ abs
-If you choose to have an auto, they are electronically controlled and shift much better than AOD's.
-Mach 460 sound system (optional). It sounds good, but does not compare with a lot of the aftermarket.
-3g Alternator (130 amp)
-Electric Fan
-Strut Tower brace

Over all, it is a matter of what you want and like. I honestly have always wanted an Sn95, so I sold my '91 for one. However, I like foxes too and can say that a Notch will someday be in my driveway. You just can't beat the look of one IMO. Good luck, and let us know what you decide.

I have owned a fox car and own a sn95 car now. After a while the SN95 has grown on me. The reason why I got it is because usually the paint is still in good condition. The interior is pretty nice. I chose it because I like the fact of the four wheel discs. If you drive in a fox and go 60-0 and then go in a SN95 and go 60-0 It is a whole new world of a difference. It is more of do you want to drag race and the extra 200lbs is gonna hurt you, or do you want a really comfortable daily driver which is some of both. I don't think my fox was uncomfortable but the sn95 definitely stands out in the comfort level.

I have both and I would have to go with the 95, it just looks better IMO. And as someone mentioned earlier, the handling is better.

Seems clear from this what you want to do is buy a clean fox in the lightest weight version (notch); stiffen up the unibody with roll cage/subframe work; then add aftermarket suspension bits for handling (stangbear can help you with this); and the 4 wheel discs off the sn95. And if you need the car to get the chicks, well....

And thats just what I did .

With the 99 v6 brake setup being much superior to the 94-98's...and the lighter notch...stopping has never been easier.

Another added bonus is that there is very few 94-95's that are able to run compairable times with compairable mods to a notch.

4 wheel brakes? I call BS. I could have sworn they only had 2 wheel brakes.

I have them both and I tend to prefer the FOX cars. However, the chassis on the new cars is lot better. If its a driver the SN95 is a better driving car. I freely admit that I hate my wifes convertible, but that's only because its a loaded 4.6/auto vert (The slowest GT ever built). There's no doubt that the 87-93's have an absolutely unique look and feel but the newer ones are better engineered.

Get the Fox, can't beat the look of them. I had a 01Gt and when it was time to get a new(used) car I didn't even consider a sn95. BTW, are GT still considered light?
