I just got shipped an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake for my '94 GT today. I know its overkill for my current setup, but I plan on doing the H/C this winter and it was a price I couldn't refuse.

Anyway, I'm sold on doing the Fox TB conversion and I have found lots of good info on the swap, but no-one seems to have anything about keeping the EGR.

I figure I need the EGR to pass emissions and I think even with the EGR spacer, it would be different because the '94-95 headers have that pipe on them that goes to the EGR valve.

So, has anyone been able to do the Fox TB swap and keep their EGR? I'm determined to do this, so if I have to, I'll be the first to figure it out and post instructions.

Illwood, I'm doing the Fox conversion this weekend, and there's some great articles out on the web about this on the corral in the 94-95 section by Rio5.0. I'm assuming that you already know everything about the swap with regards to the parts that you'll need to convert to the TB. If not just write back and I'll tell you. You'll need a Fox EGR spacer matched to your TB size, a Fox EGR valve and that's it. The SN95 EGR plug fits with the Fox EGR plug on that valve so there's no cutting wires etc like with the TPS on the Fox TB swap portion. For the header bung which will be open go to Home Depot and buy a 5\8" plumbing cap. A 5\8" flat cap is for the header, the 5\8" flare nut is for those who are capping the 94\95 EGR elbow. (I'd include pics but I'm having some trouble with that)
Hope this helps.

Yeah Tim, I'm famailiar with most of the parts needed for the swap.

I am a little confused about where the Fox EGR gets the exhaust gas from if it doesn't need the pipe from the header. I think some pics would really help me out.

Ok, I was at the track yesterday and realized that I was an idiot and that the EGR gets the exhaust from the heads on the Fox intake.

Does this mean I can run Fox headers w/o that stupid EGR tube?

Will a Fox EGR position sensor plug into my harness?

Yes, the EGR is routed through the intake, so you can run Fox style headers. Thats exactly what I'm doing.

Yep, I'm running Fox LT headers on my 95, and the Fox EGR sensor plugs right into the 94\94 EGR harness. I'd look on Ebay for a good Fox EGR valve as they're damn expensive new (a trip t the junk yard is a good second COA). Be sure to get a fox upper to lower manifold gasket with the hole in the middle instead of the 94\95 gasket in order for your EGR to run fox style.

Sweet

18mustangs - Thanks for the advice on getting a cheap EGR valve. I may check at the local NAPA for a price 'cause I have an account and get a "discount". I'm also all set with the gasket because I'm gonna use the gasket that came with the intake that already has the hole.

Since I won't have the money to do headers at the same time (planning on running a 70mm Accufab TB & EGR spacer), I'll just cap my factory EGR tube on the headers and do them at a later date.

No problem brother, I loved the fact that it cleaned up my engine bay and made servicing the spark plugs, removing the upper intake (and just about anything else on the passenger side) much easier.
