Perfect night for racing last night! I didn't set any records, but I still had fun. I got 11 runs in, and for the first time, started playing with shift points in the X-cal 2.

I started off the night with a conservative launch against an 05 GT... white, with no exhaust... couldn't see any mufflers or pipes out the back.

13.973 @ 100.2 to his 14.734 @ 98.54 (that's about what I was running when NA!)

My second run was against a 350Z. I've always wanted to run against one. Did a slightly more aggressive launch.

13.606 @ 101.53 to his 14.542 @ 96.54

Later that night I lined up against an black 06 GT with X-pipe and Borla exhaust. He was a really nice fellow playing with his wife's GT. He's building up a fox body for some serious fun!

13.609 @ 101.79 to his 14.089 @ 101.04

I only had 2 losses. One, to a stock 07 GT with cobra emblems up front. I gave that one to him... spin spin! And, one to a quick little Nissan. All props to 'im!

The rest of the night I couldn't get past 13.6 until I started playing with the shift points in the X-cal 2 and started doing burnouts. I drove around the burnout box, but didn't back into it... just did a short little burnout, enough to see some smoke. The new KDW's like a little heat.

This lead me to the last and best run of the night. Here are the vitals:

R/T .415
60' 2.160
1/8 8.735
MPH 82.57
1/4 13.529
MPH 102.44

So, I'm nowhere near my best of last year, which was 13.38. But, I feel like my car is running stronger and hooking better. Still, something seemed off. Like the times of the GT guys just seemed slow. They should be solid 13's second rides.

Still, it was a fun, fun night. Talked to a lot of the GT guys, all very cool fellows and a lot of other car enthusiasts. All night, people were coming up to me, asking, "Hey, is that the supercharged V6?"

I know there's more in 'er still. I still have quite a bit of rpm's left as I cross the line. Gotta get the shift schedule dialed in.

What are you running for tires? This on street tires? The reason I ask is because you 60' times are where you should be able to pick up some more ET. 1 tenth of 60' et is usally good for 2 tenths 1/4 et. Might be worth getting some better tires to get you to 13.0's.

KDWs are a street tire.

sounds like fun. i was tossing around the idea of staying for the drags but went to the san juans instead after seeing next month is 2 nights every weekend.

KDW's... street tires... I just upgraded from stock Pirelli's. Still, my best 60' with them was 2.09. Yeah... may be time for some drag radials. But, I think I need to nail down my tune too.

yes Thats where I was going. get some drag radials. I don't know 2 much about the new car except what I read but 255's seems awful small. You can't get anything wider out back? A fox can fit 295's in the rear no problem the newer cars must be able to atleast get something that wide in there.

I could have gone wider. But, this is my daily driving setup and I didn't want to go staggered for that task. Drag radials will be in the future!

I had a blast that night. I have the black GT with the x-pipe and exhaust it is an 07 not an 06. I think if you dropped down to a drag radial that was only 26" tall would help your car alot.

Oh, hey! 06, 07, 05... they all look the same ya know LOL! It was good to meet you! You've got 13's in that beautiful ride of yours!

I think you're right about the drag radials... we'll see what finances allow this season...
