Perfect night for racing last night! I didn't set any records, but I still had fun. I got 11 runs in, and for the first time, started playing with shift points in the X-cal 2.
I started off the night with a conservative launch against an 05 GT... white, with no exhaust... couldn't see any mufflers or pipes out the back.
13.973 @ 100.2 to his 14.734 @ 98.54 (that's about what I was running when NA!)
My second run was against a 350Z. I've always wanted to run against one. Did a slightly more aggressive launch.
13.606 @ 101.53 to his 14.542 @ 96.54
Later that night I lined up against an black 06 GT with X-pipe and Borla exhaust. He was a really nice fellow playing with his wife's GT. He's building up a fox body for some serious fun!
13.609 @ 101.79 to his 14.089 @ 101.04
I only had 2 losses. One, to a stock 07 GT with cobra emblems up front. I gave that one to him... spin spin! And, one to a quick little Nissan. All props to 'im!
The rest of the night I couldn't get past 13.6 until I started playing with the shift points in the X-cal 2 and started doing burnouts. I drove around the burnout box, but didn't back into it... just did a short little burnout, enough to see some smoke. The new KDW's like a little heat.
This lead me to the last and best run of the night. Here are the vitals:
R/T .415
60' 2.160
1/8 8.735
MPH 82.57
1/4 13.529
MPH 102.44
So, I'm nowhere near my best of last year, which was 13.38. But, I feel like my car is running stronger and hooking better. Still, something seemed off. Like the times of the GT guys just seemed slow. They should be solid 13's second rides.
Still, it was a fun, fun night. Talked to a lot of the GT guys, all very cool fellows and a lot of other car enthusiasts. All night, people were coming up to me, asking, "Hey, is that the supercharged V6?"
I know there's more in 'er still. I still have quite a bit of rpm's left as I cross the line. Gotta get the shift schedule dialed in.
