I'm wondering if you guys can help me out real quick, I have a friend who has an 98 fox built 5.0 w/ 42 lb injectors, boost, etc, and, his car runs great, but, it won't start when hot, and when it does it idles SOOOO RICH, plugs show rich after few minutes of idle.. any thoughts? no FMU... we're talkin' 10:1 kind of rich...

Mine used to do that, it was the IAT and ECT sensors bad. Check them if you haven't already.

sounds like it's time for a new ECT (coolant temp sensor). his car doesn't know when it's already warm so it tries to go into cold start mode (rich).

before changing anything you should pull the eec codes.

thanks guys, we had a spare computer kickin' around (another EEC) and that fixed it.. don't have access to a code reader till the weekend, but, strange that the new EEC would fix it ????

I totally agree with the ECT logic, it dumps fuel like mad on a cold start-up. (I read my datalogs from tweecer to see that).. I wish all stangs could datalog..
