Front end noise

I have an 86 GT, and it's always had this noise at the front end. When I go across railroad tracks or up my gravel driveway, it seems like something is loose in the suspension travel..just can hear something banging around slightly. Could this be the inner tie rod ends? What else should I check while under the car? I'm more used to older Mustangs where you just check the ball joints and be done with it...anything on the rack I should be looking at?

Thanks.

I had a similar noise with my car a while back.It ended up being the front caliper bolts (sliders) The rubber bushing was deteriorated and caused a clunking noise when ever i went over a rough road or bump.Maybe thats your problem.

How about the sway bar links (stabilzer links)?

The sway bar links are new. I now recall thinking that the sway bar bushings I put on were a little too large...I totally forgot about that (I sold this car once and then got it back after about a year so I've forgotten everything I've done to it)...I need to check that again. It's a shame that there are 264 different sway bar sizes...lol.
