I wanted to talk to someone about doing a custom cam for my engine. I thought of calling FTI, because a lot of people here have had camshafts made there. I went to their website, and they don't publish a contact number. All they have is an email link that doesn't work. Anyone have any good contact information for them?

Thanks Paul. I'll tell Ed you sent me. Just out of curiosity, any idea what kind of grind he did for you? My car falls off at the top of the track, and I think I need a better cam to get the most out of it.

I used Pauls input on his low comp motor and asked Ed to spec my cam as I'm in the same boat and a cam is hella cheaper than new pistons.... I just got the spec card on it...should be here any day. He's crazy busy and doing 70hrs weeks getting stuff done.. took me 3-4 wkks to hear back...

335.00 shipped to your door...

Kurt, I'm still running the cam that he spec'd for my old stock shortblock combo. I knew I'd be running this 331 combo NA until I put the turbo on so i just slapped this old bumpstick in there. On my 302 it made peak power at 5500, it made 304rwhp/331rwtq and I ran a 12.03 at 112mph with it. We retarded it 2* if memory serves me correctly when we put it in my 331. It now peaks at 6000rpm but that is with new heads, intake, and exhaust parts. I haven't looked at the specs in so long that I don't remember them anymore but I know the duration was in the mid 220's and the LSA was 110* To say I'm pleased is an understatement. I can't believe this little cam does what it did in my old combo and how well it performs in my new one. That is the biggest reason I haven't swapped it yet. It has absolutely no buck either. I demonstrate this all the time for friends as I'll put it into 5th at ~35mph and just putt around with no hickups of any kind.

That's nifty. I have around the same compression you do, and bigger heads with more cubes. With the huge Trick Flow cam I have I'm making a lot more peak power than that, but I think the average power is hurting. The car gets out of the hole awesome with a 1.67 short time, and then just loses it at the end of the track. It starts really falling off in 4th gear at the end. I get through the 1/8th at 87 mph, but can only pull off between 109 and 110 by the quarter. On the bottle it gets much better, but it's really hurting on motor. I sent him an email today. I'm in no hurry.

Im another happy FTI customer. My power peaks at about 5,500 but does not fall off it stays at that peak until almost 6,500 when it starts to fall off but then the graph stops.

I asked ed to make it pull hard up high where the TFSR intake is also making power. Considering Im keeping my peak all the way beyond 6,000 RPM Id say the cam is doing its job. My biggest issue w/ my current combo is my heads I know I can pull more power with better heads b/c the cam and intake are well off.

I want a balls to the wall cam. I want as much power to be tweaked out of that engine as possible. I don't drive the car enough to care about gas mileage or driveability anymore. My plan is too pull the engine, and go through it. I just got my taxes back, so I have enough money to finish up my QA1 front suspension. I've had the tubular K-member sitting in a box for 7 years now.
