Fuel Fuel Gauge stuck on full no matter what

I bought my 1987 5.0 convertible in March. Since the day I got it, it's been stuck on full even though I've been driving it a lot. What could the problem be?

mine did that, stayed on full until down to the last little bit of gas, when the get gas now light would come on, and then it would drop to almost empty. My problem was the fuel sending unit in the gas tank replaced it and fixed the problem. Lots of info in Jrichkers guide to help toubleshoot
