Fuel pressure setting with 24lb injectors.

I just put together a new motor and want to fine tune it a little more, here's a quick run though of what the motor is.

302, Edelbrock Performer heads with 1.6 rollers, E-cam, Trickflow street heat intake, 65mm TB, 75mm MAF, 24lb injectors, 255LPH fuel pump.

I was reading in one of my books that recomended to set the FP around 42-44 PSI with vac line disconnected for 24 pound injectors. Does that seem right or should I set it to the stock 38-39 PSI rating that I was running with 19's?

To be exact you'll have to get an air/fuel readout, you can have it dyno'd for relatively cheap and they should be able to tell you. I would go with 42 until you get that done, but keep in mind there is no real way for anybody to hit it dead on online. Good luck man.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I was just looking for a ball park from someone who has run these injectors on a mildly modded car. I do want to get a dyno tune, but don't think I'll be able to swing that till late summer or fall.

I am doing a similar build - mild with e cam, 1.7's, Performer intake, equal length shorties, 70mm t/b, 76mm C&L, mildly ported e7's, Crane Fireball coil, Ignition Solutions Plasma Booster (mutiple spark set up), 14.5* timing, etc... and have 24#'s to install this week or so - What will it do to gas mileage? Is there any benefit to using the 24's with 4 holes vs. 19#'s w/ 1 hole? I figured I would add larger injectors since I freed up the intake, ignition and exhaust a bit to throw some more fuel to the fire - is it going to show a difference?

Craig-

As you know, I have almost the exact same combo as you with 24# injectors. I have played around with the fuel pressure many times and my car seems to respond best with the pressure set right at 40psi. Good luck.
