Okay guys,
Time for another fun ticking problem.
Car: 96 GT, bone stock except for deleted post in MAF
I've had problems with a misfire in cyl. #6, causing very unwanted hesitation and great annoyance on my behalf I adopted a rather unorthodoxed strategy to fix the problem: disconnect the #6 injector and drive the car for about a day. Both times I've tried it, it seems to have worked, the most recent being last Monday. Today, I filled it up and put a bottle of STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner in there, and a few hours later, then engine started making a VERY noticable pinging/ticking sound when driving. It does not make the noise at idle, nor when revving at a stop. Only while driving from around 2000-4000 rpm's does it make the noise.
Maybe I'm naive, but could this sound just be caused from an injector that was REALLY clogged and is now in the process of clearing itself? I can't really use the screwdriver-on-the-injector trick, because it doesn't make the noise at a stop, only under load. Valves(gasp!)? Perhaps this is something that will just clear itself in a little while?
Also, FYI, the car seems to be running a lot better, except for this noise.
Please help.

seriously though...this tick? is it left head? my 00gt had a tick that could only be heard underload with radio off never at idle or revs...oddly enough it never effected anything that car was a beast!!
