Hello what’s up all? I was just wondering if anyone knew what the best sub box is for a 96 mustang (coup). I Have 2 audiobanh 12" subs rated @1,100 watts rms and I Think I have them in a too small of a box because I just does not hit like I think it should. It hits hard but not melt my face hard like I think it should. To put it in prospective I had a 15" kicker comp 500watt rms sub running on a kicker 200watt amp in a big vented box in my old VW Mk3 glof that hit a bit harder I think. My new system is running on a audiobahn 1000watt rms amp now. The box is a sealed I would really like a vented box to get more bass but I don’t know what one will fit. Any input would help thanks. Links/Pics plz..

A ported box for 2 12" subs is prob gonna have to be custom made...I tried to put a single 12" ported box in my trunk and it wouldn't go, hell, the sealed box I have in there now BARELY gets in, have to really push it in. Make sure your amp is tuned right, and the subs are hooked up correctly (ie. series or parallel) that will make all the difference in the world.

if the subs are rated at 1100 watts rms a piece and you only have a 1000 watt amp trying to push 2200 watts its not gonna hit hard. get another amp and find the correct air space for the subs and build the box to match.

you have to match the amp to the rms to the speakers or its not gonna be loud.

Just because it’s rated at 1100 rms does not mean you need to run that. Like I said I had a 500 rms 15" pushed by a kicker 200w amp. My system still runs 500 watts @ 2 ohm's x2 so each sub is getting 500 that should be plenty. And they are DVC 4ohm coils wired up right. I think I’m going to build it myself didn’t want to do it though.
