Gatorbacks don't seem to Grip, still New too!

Ok so With ALl the Mod's I have I'm starting to see that my Gatorbacks"Stock 245" want to spin more then ever ..
Is there anyone that can recommed a better Tire for the rear?
Or should I go with some 265-275 Rear Gatorbacks If they make them?

Oh ya My stock tires Only Have 10k on them and I have Really been good to them.. No joke

So are they not as good as I need or do I need wider ones??

i would never buy any goodyears like the stockers, they are way too expensive for tires that won't hook @ all. i wouldn't think it would be any better if they were wider. i have sumitomo htrz II's, they hook up pretty good for a street tire & wear better than dr's- plus i really like the way they look. just go to tirerack.com & do some research on all the different models til u find the look & specs u are lookin for.

well, when you've got upwards of 300 lbs/ft torque, you're gonna spin pretty much whatever you put on. Hell, I haven't done that much to my car (still with stock heads too) and it'll melt my brand new kumho 275's through 1st and most of 2nd. of course, the 4.10's don't help so when you get new gears, expect to have less traction.

i would not suggest getting wider gatorbacks, as you can get better tires for the same price. Although I did cut a 1.99 60' on them before

May want to try the Kumho MX or some Nitto DRs.

I don't think you can get gater back anything but our size. yeah I have to agree, they do suck.
tell you what tho, around 3 pm, when loca highschool spit out all their kids, gaterback fishtailing everywhere, impress the heck out of highschool chick&punk alike

The gatorbacks suck for traction. I got pretty good wear out of mine, but you're going to spin some with any tire as FastRed said.Go with a DR on the back and that should help some.The only reason my second set of tires were gatorbacks ,was a friend got them for $91.00 a piece.Was kind of hard to turn that down, regardless of what I thought of them.

Ya I'm pushing 315lbs of torque so I'm sure your right..
I was hoping to get ONLY the rears so they would match the front stockers..

Go with Kumho MXs... the Gatorbacks SUCK!!! Done a lot of research, if you want traction at a decent price, MXs rate just above the Nitto 555ZRs

In my opinion, Gatorbacks suck. They don't grip well on dry pavement, they wear fast, they hydroplane on water, etc. Go with BF Goodrich Comp TA's. I have been very pleased with mine.
