Asking what gears to go with. I have searched and have had 3.55's in my old fox body. I have read MANY pages arguing about whats the best with a 5 speed but I have an AUTO. Have not seen much talking about autos with gear selection. Is it as vague as with a 5 speed ranging from 3.55's to 4.56's or is the selection with an auto a little easier?

I am thinking of the 3.90's or 4.10's. And I am about 75% sure I will be adding a procharger in a little less than a year. Other than that its pretty stock right now.

Neither of my cars match yours, sorry

My '91 5.0 automatic: 3.73

My '97 Cobra manual (duh): 4.30

I'd say 4.10 naturally aspirated, 3.73's with a power adder. Get that auto tranny built up, too.

I didnt lose any mpg. If you are NA thats a bad decision.

4.10s are perfect NA. If I had 3.73s I'd pay it all again to switch em for the 4.10s, no question.

gears

I think if you are going to install a procharger, you need 3.55's or 3.73's at the most. Just my opinion. I have a set of both for sale. I have 3.55's and 3.73's. The 55's have about 1500 miles on them and the 73's have about 5000 miles on them. Both ford gears and installed at local ford dealership. If interested, email me at bigdude31513@yahoo.com.

3.73's for you bud, since you are getting the supercharger. It'll be plenty gear for you.
