I currently have stock 3.08 and get good gas mileage but I want to upgrade to 3.73's. I am just wondering how bad that will hurm my gas mileage?

Mine actually got better going from 3.08's to 3.55's. (with swapping the speedo gear so everything's accurate)

it wont effect your MPH enough to dent your wallet. If your really concerned w/ MPG then dont go much beyond gears b/c it gets alot worse after that.

You can figure on losing about 2 miles per gallon.

My mileage didn't drop any. It has dropped a little over time since I got the gears, but that's due to other junk.

In the city it COULD be better, that is if you dont get on it, because you could get into a higher gear, and still have the torque to get around...on the highway is the only time you'll see a difference, because you'll be driving at a higher RPM, but its not going to be THAT big of a deal.

yep, it completely depends on what kind of driving you do and how heavy your foot is.

I went from 2.73 gears to 3.55 gears. I drive about 70% highway and 30% city. I lost about 1 mpg. (maybe less)

But also during the swap I had all new axles, differential, seals, bearings installed, so that probably helped out also.

My gas mileage went up in town going from 3.08's to 3.73's. I lost maybe 1 or 2 MPG on the highway.

My gas mileage actually got better when i put in the 4:10's because now i'm in 5th much more often. Most of the time i used to cruise in 4rth because when i shift to 5th, the rpm's would drop rediculously low cuz of that damn overdrive. I get about 15-16mpg now in city driving. About 18-20 highway.
