Getting a chip

There is a guy pretty locat who is a dealer for SCT.....Seems to really know his stuff......I am gonna get a chip from him in about 3 weeks or so ......just past christmas....lol

so my question is.........what are the things i need to adjust etc.....i will list what i have came up with...

Stock speed limiter
stock rev limiter
raise idle
delete egr(already off car)
add timing etc.....in tune
get rid of tip in timing retard on shifts
General tune for driveability.......


it is prolly gonna be a switch chip....one you can change between three tunes.......with the flip of the switch.....Main things i want are driveability, and a good air/fuel ratio etc..


you guys tell me your experiences with the chips etc......and what all was done to achieve your tune, and the current state of driveability........Also please tell me what the manners of your car are like...

I have a JMS chip and love it, my car got tuned in 20 minutes over the phone. If the chip guy is good, he'll know exactly how to tune your car. JMS has a bunch of programs saved so I'm sure he can look one up thats close to your combo.

What mods do you have?

I have h/c/i.......with exhaust and a few other misc things.........


who did you deal with at JMS.....possibly give them a call....

I had a Superchip burned little while ago, not my car, but Me and a Bud tuned it then had it burned...I was impressed with the software and the outcome...granted this was a Vortech set-up..They pulled 80RWHP out with the chip...We wouldn't get that, but hey...I'm game....
I may very well get one done this year on mine as I gonna go Alum heads, custom cam and upping the injectors to....
These guys tune 80% Ford, so thats a plus...
So i'm subscribing on this one...

zenboy.......did they give you a list of stuff that was done on the chip etc........that is the kind of thing i am looking for...........but if you can get me a name.......I can call and see what is up with it......JMS is here in alabama......so there might even be road trip involved......
