Oooops...Seems you can never do a mod without running into a little problem. At least you got the bolt out.

Don't forget to oil down the cams before you put the covers back on.

Yep, no luck this weekend, nothing is open. I'll have to wait for Monday

Yes, I have cam lubricant that I apply on the cams. Now all that is stopping me from finishing is that stupid bolt

Looks good man! Can't wait to see vids or dyno numbers!

I remember when my motor was torn down for my VT stage 2's.. it was crazy looking... and then after 2 vavles got bent (1 on each head), it hurt me to see the car with the heads and intake off

Awsome! Glad the anderson tool actually worked for you lol! Any close calls with it?

Anyways, I hope you didnt tighten those main caps too tight on the pass side....I have heard that they can be overtightened and will basically lock the cams up.

You have taken a wrench to your crank pully and rotated the engine over a few times right?

After cranking it a few time with the fuel pump off, to lubricate everything, I started it.

It fired up, it made a squeak and stalled I was so scared that something went wrong.

Then I fired it up again, boom it started with no effort and didn't need help to idle. Ran it for 5 minutes and it's great

Quick question: Is there a break in period for cams?!?

Glad to hear that you finally got to fire it up and everything's going smooth.. but I have no clue about a break-in period.. I drove my car with cams for 3 weeks before I was able to get it tuned and then get on it. So I really have no idea.. I'd just say the break-in period is until it's tuned

Just called my friend(mechanic in training) he told me just to drive normally for 300 miles for break in period. No 6000rpm runs

Can't wait to get over with the breakin and get my tune it so I can see what this car can really do

Hell yeah!

It drove me nuts to not be able to give my car some hell until my tune was done, but I lasted.. somehow lol

The books says 71-106 inch-lbs, I torqued them to 85inch-lbs. And yes, I did check for clearance and all.

I just called VT Engines and they said there is no break-in method or period at all!

Also, I just installed the Diablosport Performance Tune back and set the idle to 800rpm instead of 750rpm and it runs great. No more of that 400rpm stalling idles, no more crazy shaking, no more crazy exhaust rattle caused by shaking.

I'm still waiting for my real custom tune thought, hopefully RWTD will send me one soon
