Glue all over shift boot :(

I just swapped a tko into my car... with a 10th anniversary woven shift boot. I got glue all around the boot by the bezel from gluing it on How could i safely get it off of there?

What kind of glue did you use? You could try goof off or finger nail polish remover but make sure that you have good ventalation. I am not sure if it will hurt the leather or not. When I did my anniversary boot I had to drill four tiny holes and pop-rivet the new one on to get it to stay and look right. Paint the rivet heads satin black, throw on a mach 1 trim ring and the rivets disappear. Hope that this helps.

i would have used hot glue+rivets

try heating the glue up w/, say, a hair dryer, heat gun, or open flame (lighter) and when it gets hot enough simply peal it off.
