I'm almost embarassed to be putting this in the 'tech' forum but, I have to admit, there's only one part of my whole mustang that rattles, but - gold help me, it's driving me insane, it's the piece that surrounds the AC controls/vents/cd player, and I can push on a corner of it and it stops for about 5 minutes, i've highlighted the corner (I don't know why), I'm wondering if i can take that trim piece off could I put a piece of foam tape or something behind it? Anything to stop this freaking rattle! help!

edit: yes, before anyone says anything, I was on the interstate when i took the picture.

I think there is a TSB on this. They put something behind the vents to keep them from rattling and send you on your merry way. Check with your local dealer to see if they can help you out!

Read this tech article I wrote - somewhere in there it will tell you how to remove that plate. http://www.stangnet.com/Tech-Articles/Painting-Your-Interior.html.

There are small foam cushions in the corners of the that piece up top to keep it from rattling. If you don't want to remove it, just shove something made of rubber in behind the corners and that should stop the annoying rattling.

I had the same problem, the easiest solution - and cheapest - is to get some relatively thick double sided tape and put a about a .5 inch long piece in each top corner. I didn't have to remove anything to do this, and the tape isn't visible either. Fixed my rattle completely!
