As far as cam, you might call a cam manufacturer or cam machinist to see what kind of custom cam would be a good setup. As far as foller rockers go, you'll need to make sure that you don't have any piston to valve clearance. 1.6 are the stock ratio. Good luck with all of this and welcome to Stangnet.

So is this ratio directly related to the heads/cam I use or is there different way to measure or know which one you need or if you could reuse the stock ones?

All the guys around here swear by Explorer engines with TFS Stage 2 cams and 4.10 gears....easy 12s all day long. Spray it on slicks and you'll get 11s.

Well really the only part of Explorer that matters is the heads...though a lot of those guys are EFI and use the Explorer intakes also. Personally i'd just go with Explorer heads and my Vic. Jr. intake and carb, so you don't necessarily have to swap the whole engine, but sometimes if you get a good running Explorer engine, it can actually be easier.

Is this NOS big shot kit good for what I want to do: http://store.summitracing.com/partd...839080+4294840126+4294870922+115&autoview=sku

(P/N NOS-02119NOS) Is $660 the average price for these EFI plate kits?

It seems to me that most brands of nitrous kits are about the same.
Id look around and see what other people use and how they like it.
Also see if there are any shops near you that will refill nitrous bottles.

As far as launching the car on slicks, you will need better axles.
Stock axles will not hold on even a stock 5spd on slicks.

I broke mine on drag radials.
I recomend 31 spline axles and a better diff, maybe a locker.

Personally I stick with NEX or Compucar. The stuff that they make is MUCH nicer than the competition, Zex or NOS. The new trick flow nitrous kids have been great as of late as well. I'd really like to try one out on my own though before I reccomend them.

Nitrous Express or Compucar, you'll thank me down the road

The NEX salesman that came in had a bag of NOS parts and a bag of NEX parts, and showed us the difference. I could go on for HOURS how much nicer NEX is.

To change the rear axles to 31splines you need to change the diff correct? What else is envolved when going from stock 31 spline?(basically diff and axles?)

Thanks for the NEX and Compucar suggestion.
