Welcome to StangNet! You'll get alot more replies if you put something more than just a question mark in the thread title, just for future reference. :nice:

Well, you basically have two choices.

Either GT40 or GT40P heads.

And 2 different style Explorer intakes.

For the intakes, look at the part numbers on the lower intake behind where the distributor is. Most intakes will begin with an F8 part number. Look at the last two numbers in the part number, they will either be -BA or -BB. The -BA intake is the one to get as it has the boss for the ACT as well as having the internal EGR present and thicker mounting ears on the upper intake. A -BB intake will work (it's the most common explorer intake), but you will need to delete the EGR, and be very carefull when tapping the ACT or relocate it. There may also be some early explorers with an F4/F5 part number on the intake. You can grab those too. Usually later 1997-later will have the -BB intake

For the heads, you can ID them by the number of bars on the front head. GT40 heads come on early 1996 and some 1997 explorers. You can ID them by 3 vertical bars on the front of the heads and they will say "GT" by #1/#8 spark plug

The GT40P heads come on later explorers and have 4 vertical bars and say GTP by the #1 and #8 spark plug.
