I am going to a junk yard in the morning. What vehicles came with the same upper intake as a 1987 - 1993 Mustang 5.0? I want to pick a spare one up and have it powder coated for my stang. Will an explorer upper intake fit on a stock 302 lower intake? Also I am going to get stock valve covers. Which vehicles have the stock valve covers for a 1991 mustang 5.0? Thanks for your help in advance.

I think most of the v8 licolns and thunderbirds have to same uppers. No explorer intakes are like the cobra they have round ports.

Canadian Cobra not too be confused with a GT. I think only 5.0's came with that type of upper! Was there a 5.0 Capri in 87?

I think '86 was the last year for the Capri and it should have the same intake as a Mustang.

if you are using a stock intake now....and you come across an explorer GT40 style intake, you should get that...it will give you a decent gain and allow you to expand later on if you want to do heads and cam

for the valve covers and intake i has to be an ho motor you can find them in lincoln super coupes too the intake may look the same in the t birds in cougars i believe its an e6 part # and those are a bit restrictive compared to the e7 versions. also the ho motors in the lsc cars are identical to the mustangs down to the valve covers and the fead assemblies

The '86 intakes sucked compared to the '87s. They look similar but are different inside. I think this might apply to the Crown Vic and other similar intakes but i'm not sure.

'87-'93 lincoln mark vii LSC's had the same 5.0 HO engine as the mustangs. The valve covers and intakes should be indentical.

If you want stock stuff and you haven't found it yet you can have what I've got if you pay the shipping. I have a spare stock upper & lower, and a set of stock valve covers.
