thats weird. i've been reading the old posts for a while now and i havent read that. i've read that it works. one guy has been using it for awhile now with success.
It ISN'T bad to have a locked converter. A locked converter is always faster than an unlocked converter. 99% efficiency vs. ~70% efficiency. I think they don't like the way it locks and unlock on the street. This all could be fixed with a chip/tune you could just have it locked when at WOT or not at all if you choose.
I was saying you don't want 100% lockup on a stock converter or a converter thet is not made for it. The stock cal for a 95-94 is for it to lock but still slip some so your not getting a true 100% lockup. Really unless it's not a multi disc converter it's not good for them.
Under 350 RW torque it's OK to run a stock, single disk converter - no harm done. There is a bit of slip, but not much. The EEC is programmed stock to allow some slip between shifts - but it's generally already unlocked for shifts.
like Don said. its not bad. just annoying for me. when i'm driving at around 50 km/h and the converter locks up, and i decide to give it some more throttle like to pass someone, it wont unlock (it should almost feel like a downshift when it unlocks). when you tap on the brake it feels like it downshifts out of lockup.
moving the lockup to higher speed VIA a tune/chip would be the best way to avoid this but for now this works.
