If your lights are "dancing" then you might wanna think about changing your alternator or getting a capacator. One of the two will fail eventually either your amp because lack of voltage or your alternator because the voltage spikes produced by the amp...just a thought

get a capacitor. it stores energy when the subs arent hitting, and uses the stored energy when the subs do need power. keeps the power constant, and you wont have the "dimming lights" effect. a good opt. battery and an alternator upgrade (dont skimp...i used a *** one and it was shot in less than a year) will be a good idea, along with a capacitor. the more wattage you run, the larger cap. you need (1 farad, 1.5 farad, 2 farad, etc.) go to your local stereo store and ask about them. even best buy or circuit city. L7's are great subs..im sure they kick hard.

what kind of JL's? this is key. If he has W0's...then they are crap. But if he has W6's..or even W7's (the God of all JL subs)...then thats what im talking about! those L7's hit ****ing HARD.

U could've just bought a little knob like switch. My buddy has a knob on his dash in his avalanche that he turns up or turns down depending, its like a light dimmer for a house swich, it limits the power going throught the wires.

I don't get it. What's the attraction of having a system where the bass is so loud you can't hear the music or you can't breathe?

well imo its more about bragging rights: "hey guys check out the system i got in the s10.... its pretty loud aint it" (me)

every DD ive had has had a "system" even though i may only have it turned up 1-2 times a week it worth evey penny to me.

and besides you dont get the full effect of haystak (best rapper ever) unless everyone else on the road can hear it too.

I've got two Comp VR12s in my Jeep....they're PLENTY loud enough lol. In fact i tested with a slight loss in hearing the last time i got tested, so they're really more than enough.
