Got my 418 started finally.

Well, I got my car finally started and man it sounds like a bat out of hell with just Lt's on. I can get it to idle about at 1000rpm. I still need to finish up some stuff like tb linkage, finish the exhaust, ect. I would have taken a vid but my batt voltage was low on the car so i couldent get it to start when i wanted to take the vid. I will have one up tomorrow.

Oh and the problem was my rockers were set wrong. Now i'm off to have a 2:45am beer to celebrate.

Nice work last night with diagnosing the rockers as being too tight, Brandon.

Good luck with buttoning the rest of it up and tuning it.

Excellente! BTW, is it even possible to put that bear of an engine in the car running the stock computer? What did you have to do to make it work? Just curious. Thanks and congrats and have fun with it!!!

He's using a twEECer setup to compensate for everything.

I'm using a tweecer. I have a lightning maf and 42lb injectors. The only thing i changed in the tweecer was the maf curve and the injectors. I think low-5.0 is running the stock comp with his 418 and he has a maf that is calibrated for 42'lb injectors. Once I get it all togetor I will start playing with the tune. And once i get the tranny finished i will get it dyno tuned.

It's about time! lol j/k Glad to hear you got it going. That must sound wicked with just open LT's! I thought about running mine like that once, but Im too lazy.

Pokageek, Im running mine on the stock computer with no tuning. It runs like crap at times, but other times it runs great. It's way too rich in the lower rpm's, and then I think it goes lean in the upper rpm's. But, the main thing is that it's driveable, and it idles at a steady 850rpm's thanks to Ed Curtis.

I have no choice right now on the exhaust becuase i'm going to have to fab up something for now becuase I had to extend the flanges on the hedars to clear the tranny.I can't wait to open it up lol.

Are you gonna do your own exhaust, or try to make an H/X-pipe fit? The Kooks universal x-pipe fit mine pretty good. It's a cut-to-fit piece so it should work on just about anything.

Here's a pic of mine. Ignore the dirt, I'll get to that someday.

I'm using a 94-95 timing cover with a 94-95 stewart high flow water pump.
