Finally got my x-pipe today. I had no idea I would gain as much power as I did. It feels like a completly different car. Before I would just chirp the tires a little when flooring it from a stop. Now,I can roast them. Stock cat's are way to restrictive. Up next is a nice catback to bring out the true sound of the X-pipe.

Also, I would like to thank Redhot91GT for staying up until 1:30 am with be installing it. You rock man.

ha, there's the true test- i think you're the first person to install a midpipe before a catback. Is there a huge sound difference? and if there is maybe you could make a soundclip so people can here the difference. Anyways, good to know it helps

I was in the car lol... Those mufflers that he has are barely louder than stock. So the car was still not very loud, but the car did gain performance, you could feel it in the rpm's. Also there is a bit sound difference between that old 4 catted H he had. Louder but not Huge groundshaking difference.

Oh and np jason, had fun installin that thing.

Very nice... good choice with the x-pipe.

My x-pipe took me about 5 hours to install, the hardest part was getting that heavy stock h-pipe off, once that was off it was a breeze.

X-pipes are great! Still enjoy mine daily and get lots of looks from fellow stangers. My emissions will be checked this week, but I'm guessing that will be no problem at all since I'm still averaging 23-24mpg on long interstate trips.

I'm waiting for a catback, too, just contemplating Bassani or American Thunder.

I've narrowed it down between those two catbacks as well. I have a while to think about it, as I have my next semester of college tuition coming up, and I am going to get a tranny leak fixed next week. Leaking from a seal on the front pump (the tranny guy said it only effects teh car when it's off ).

One quick wuestion for you guys. When I took the stang out after the install, the car seems to run a little rich. I assume all will be well when the computer relearns everything? Should I reset it by unplugging the battery?

My car ran a little different for a few days, but after a few hours on the road, everything seemed to be in check. One nice benefit is that the car seems to get to the higher rpm's with more confidence and the overall sound is consistent up to about 5,500 rpms. It no longer feels like it is struggling or choking above 4,500 (probably due to very worn and broken cats on stock h-pipe). There's a bit more punch than before and the sound is different adn awesome.

I'm holding off on the catback for a couple months due to the suspension upgrades currently in progress. Then gears, wheels, brakes, panhard bar, and finally the catback.

Good luck.

The smog pump tubing was pretty stupid thats what made the install longer than it needed to be.

That thing was a pita... Dustin, you ever go out to speedworld?

Ponypowa2,I have flowtech mufflers that are welded into the tailpipes and flow tubes... It sounds alright, it is just really quiet... If you guys really want me to I guess I could find a way to post a sound clip, might take me a while though.

Maybe some of your oem cats were starting to plug up on ya. When I did my Bassani O/R X I didn't feel anything noticable, I did it b4 the aftercat so I thought that could be it, so I did the Bassani aftercat, didn't feel anything, then headers, and was still unnoticable. Made a lot more noise though. Good to see yours worked out better.

1000 times better! Other stangers who hear my car always want to know what catback I'm running, and they're always surprised it's still stock. I do plan on getting a Bassani cb, later though.

Although the engine seemed to rev easier, and my pos tires spun even easier in 1st gear; I think most of the softp difference is psychological (it sounds like you're flyin'!).

One thing I'm sure of is my pinging disappeared w/it on (everything else stayed the same), until we broke 100* here. ...Now its back , but not until 4400 instead of 3800.

Sounds like your stock cats were clogged.
