GT 40's and an E cam, good combo?

I was reading that the gt 40's are better used with the stock cam. I was planning on gettting gt 40's and an e cam. but after reading that i wanted to make sure i wasn't making a mistake. ( other mods are trick flow street intake, 65mm t body, 75mm maf, 3.73's, bbk o/r h pipe, and flows)
any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!
by the way going w gt 40's due to budget.

Anything is better than an E-cam. Christ, keep the stock cam and use 1.7 rockers. It's not ripping the front of the motor apart to install an E-cam. Guys are going 11's with the stock cam N/A, so it can't be that bad...

the e cam has a bit more lift than a cobra cam, but not much, and in reality, not a whole lot more lift than a gt cam (444 vss 498) and the lsa is a bit better, at least for the total, so it's not a whole lot of a difference oh, by the way, 282 vss 280 i think, look up the specs in the faq at the top

I am running the B cam listed in my Mods along with every other mod. Car Runs Good. Had to move the idle up alittle but besides that runs great! Pull up to someone at a red light, they get scared as hell. They Sure know they dont sound like that STOCK!
