GT500 clutch

apparently ford is having a run of bad clutches. this came in last week. SVT (or whoever is dealing with these now) called and flat out said "replace it"


i wont post a pic of the car so the owner wont be identifiable.

Looks like the same dual disc clutch used in the Ford GT, could this be driver error? I run a McLeod dual disc clutch in my Saleen, No problems. McLeod rates it to 1000 H.P.!!! It is very much an on/off type of clutch, not made for slipping. Or maybe just a bad batch of clutch disc's. Does Valeo still make Fords clutches? :shrug:

driver error or not. apparently its a problem ford is aware of. this car was modded. ford said it didnt matter what mods it has. they wanted the old clutch.


dont quote me on this but it MIGHT work on the terminators if you do a 26 spline conversion. it may also be more in depth than that (gt500 has internal slave. not cable) its been a while since ive looked into the 03/04 scene since i no longer have 1.
