I wake up this morning (I work in 1st shift now) go out side and I was like 6 foot from Mine Stang when I saw little river of somekinda liquid going under rear end of mine Stang , I come closer and touch that **** with finger and smell it , DAMN thats f****** gas WTF ,last night I fill up gas and cruise little bit in town, never have gas leal , but this morning I had , I don't think so that leak whole night because staing is not that big about 2x2 foot , meybe I lose like one galon , anyway leak coming from grommet ,
Before 7 months I installed 255 Walbro pump but I didn't change grommet and thats why I have leaking now , same hout I bought brand new grommet in Ford dealer for $16.33 (I have 25% off :D )
Bad thing was I have full tank off gas and I have to wait until is empty BUT I just come back from 170 miles highway ride and tank is almost empty :p
Tomorrow I will change f****r

Hes from bosina.....

Seth that sucks dude, hopefully you can get it fixed soon. As expensive as gas is you dont want it leaking out all over the ground :owned:

no, hes from Bosnia :D :jester:

im totally with striped, you better pop a bucket under that beast and collect the gas like water in the desert.

Yea, that sucks. Same thing hapenned to me not too long ago. I also went on a ~100 mile trip the day after it started leaking so I burned most of the gas before I had to change it. I was only left with about 2.5 gallons and I didnt think that it would be that hard to put the tank back up. Boy was I wrong :nonono: Thankfully my neighbor was there and he gave me a hand. :nice:

Very simple to replace and happened to me last year at FFW. I was @ a station filling up and a lady walks up to me and say's "Uhmm...my son says all the gas you are pumping in is spilling all over the ground". It was like Niagra Falls and I noticed the pump price was around $30. I had no idea it was spilling over.

WHich grommet is it? The one that the filler neck sticks into? If so, you won't be able to change it without taking the neck all the way out and you can't do that without dropping the tank. You might get away with not having to disconnect the fuel lines, but I doubt it since there isn't a hell of a lot of slack in there.

Last time and only time when I installed fuel pump I couldn't take off filer neck so I didn't tahe tank oall way down , passenger side was in air :D , and thats why I have leak now ,
BTW one guy who for for Ford dealer told me I have to use some kinda lube ????

The filler neck goes pretty far into the tank, so I dont know if you would be able to do it without taking the whole tank down. You definitely need to get that passenger side down thoug. Why couldnt you get it off when you installed the pump? The Ford guy told me to use some lube only if things werent able to slide in easily, but hey did.

He has a filler neck grommet leak not the fuel pump and it just gets dry rotted or when you stress it out by leaving it hanging when dropping the tank.

Seth the tank has to come all the way down and it slides right in, just make sure not to drop any rubber debris in when changing it. You can just push it in no lube is needed but is helpful.

How does that happen? What could cause your fuel pump to just leak?
The rubber grommet where the arrow is pointing is where it leaks from, not the actual fuel pump.
