well guys its blue. i made a couple of mistakes i left paint in the can that i opened even though i sealed it it was lighter.dont touch the paint for 24 to 48 hrs even though its dry on the outside doesnt mean its not soft.do the whole car at once.

ok i did some work today south side rear upper and lower control arms. ran some brake lines hung front struts i was going to install the steering column but i have 2 wires hanging loose going to the steering coloumn not sure which plug. the two wires are black with yellow stripe and orange with yellow stripe where in the column plugs do they go?

Your garage is a mess!! Why didn't you mask the windshield off and take the moldings off and the quarter windows out?? Looks like you got many hours of color sanding and buffing to do.

windshield is cracked i was going to take the moldings off but i decided to paint them instead.yes my garage is a mess its not located in the nicest neighborhood in philly so if i keep it looking like that the locals dont bother it.yes i have sanding to do is there anything else you wanna rip apart or is that it? because i walk with a limp my hair isnt alway trimed and my other car needs to be washed.

ps the moldings on the quarter windows are shot so ill replace them later

He was just giving advice as he paints things as well...

I think its more along the lines of you can see where you taped the moldings off, but the tape was actually overlapping the body. It's not a big deal, as I dont own the car so its no sweat off my back, but you can see the color underneath in some areas. Things like that, overspray and such can easily be avoided with a few more hours of prep time, and in the end make the product come out much better.

Looks like your doing a lot of work (I did something similar a year or two ago) and it should look pretty good when it's done. Just some helpful suggestions for next time you tackle it.

the paint that appears to be coming through on the rear quarter windows is actually overspray from the last paint job

I'm talking about the paint you can see under the passenger door window trim, under the 1/4 window trim, and other places where it appears as though the tape overlapped the old body and caused it. Now in the end Im just being nitpicky, but I painted my car not too long ago as well and even though I didnt do it the way everyone else would, I did it the way I could...

I agree, the molding that goes between the window and the door skin is removed by one screw. When I paint a car EVERYTHING is off the car. Mirrors, door handles, mouldings etc. Its the only way I would do it for a seamless paint job. Just tryin to pass some knowledge onto someone in hopes to make their lives easier. No intent to insult.
