gutted cats......stock h-pipe?......

I put an x-pipe with no cats on my '06 Roush over the weekend

I really don't like the sound. I like the h-pipe sound better. Anyone gutted their cats in the stock pipe? I have emissions here, but no sniffer, they just plug into the OBD port and as long as there's no CEL ot thrown codes it passes. So I'm not worried about testing. Would gutting the cats give the car a o/r h-pipe sound? Roush put a magnaflow axle-back on the car, I'm not running ford mufflers.

Just sell the x pipe and buy an H pipe... Problem solved... And you don't have to ruin your very expensive stock h pipe.

I kept my stock H so that if/when I have to put it back on I can.

I have the Pypes H pipe installed for 2 months now and have not thrown a code. Time will tell but I think it may never happen!

So, I am having the x taken back off tomorrow afternoon, I still need to 'gut' the cats on my stock h. What's the easiest way to do it?

Buy an offroad pipe, man. It's worth it. That mid pipe is really expensive from the dealer.. and if you ever sell it to someone that lives in an emissions compliant state, you can be sued for misrepresenting the car having cats. I just don't think it's worth the time or hassle when offroad pipes are pretty cheap.
