I would expect $300 to maybe $400 on the gear install. Especially if you are replacing all the bearings too (which is a good idea). Parts are gonna be close to $300, again if you are doing the bearings. So I could see $600 to $800 there.

Don't know about slush boxes.

My PI Stallion was $800 with install. The gears were $4-something 8 years ago installed.

I paid $230 for isntall on my gears. Plus $300 in parts (rebuild kit plus gears)... But this was a backwoods guy.... He did the job "almost" right"... I ended up fixing it myself after...

For the convertor. I had to pay for the tq convertor to pump seal to be changed in my dakota in like 1999 (before i started getting into doing stuff myself) and it ran me about $150 or so (3 hours) at a dealer... So figure $200-$250 for labor on the tq convertor, plus fluids and the convertor itself.

Hope this helps...

I just sold a Torque converter on Ebay for 30 bucks plus 20 S&H, which was my loss because the shipping to california (why do i always forget to do the calculated shipping?) was 48.95.
Buy 3.73's on ebay as well. Look for truck gears. Guys with F150's swap out for 4.10's or 4.56's.

gears you can do yourself pretty easily with a friend, some beer and an afternoon. As for the torque converter, i'm on the south side, closer to Indiana. I know a couple of places down here. PM if you're still looking for a place.
I live in Lansing, IL.

$565 for an Edge Racing Converter. www.edgeracingconverters.com

Talk to Andre, tell him I sent you... see if he'll cut you a deal on shipping or something.

andre@edgeracingconverters.com

that would knock at least $100 off the price... other than that the 1509 after tax isn't too bad.
