How do you prevent the power steering pump for squirting the juice like a mofo when you run a short belt ?

Almost got killed last year because I ruined a guy's t-shirt at the track cuz the power steering was squirting like a **** star ....

What exactly do you mean? That sort of doesnt make any sense. Running a shorter belt has nothing to do with how fast the pump is operating, it's the pully itself that turns everything. Your accessories arent speeding up just because you have a shorter belt.

Sounds like you need a new cap for the pump. It's common.

When the engine is running, the power steering reservoir squirts through the small hole on the cap even though it is not connected ?

How can this happen ?

Because your not using the proper cap that has baffles to prevent that from happening...

I have the original cap ? Do you mean I need another cap ?
The original cap has some sort of rubber baffle under it...

Can someone explain me how can it be squirting ? It is not even driven by the belt ?

ummmmmmmmm, hmmmmmmmmm, i'm assuming whats happening is while the pump isn't being spun just turning the wheel back and forth is causing enough pressure to make it squirt out of the cap.........

Sounds to me like maybe you have a clogged line or something that's creating an unusual amount of pressure....either that or you're overfilling it.
