this is going to be a little long sorry! anyway i am going to pick a place here in nj, that can do all of this work for me step by step. i want tyhe same shop to work on my car all the time if possable. i was thinking of this set up.

kenny bell blower, do they have different models? what will fit my needs?

fox lake p&p heads, stage one or two. which do you think?

and i will have my engine built, or buy a built one from dss or somthing.

o k i know that is what i want, but im not sure of all the steps i have to take, and was hoping that some of you could give me anything you know on these part, install, shops......

the order im doing things is heads first that built engine then blower.

when i build the engine, im not trying to make it faster just stronger. to deal with boost. however i believe that dss can build faster engines also, but i dont know if they can be boosted. whats the deal?

i need to be able to pass emissions in the end, thats whats making this so hard. compression, timing, boost, tune will all play a roll. id hate to do it all then find out i cant pass emissions.... can this be done and pass that is my goal.

also with the built engine, can i take of the revlimiter, and go higher into the rpm range to make more power without hurting anything?

you take and advice.....thanks

First off, what is your HP or E.T goal? You need to have something to shoot for. That will determine the heads you choose. As for the emissions, should be a prob, just gonna have to choose the stage one route more than likely, but they will tell you that before purchasin them. To go higher in the Rev's you will need different cams, the heads will also play into this, but again, this will be affected by the emissions problem. As of now, how fast do you want to go, or how much HP are you shootin for?

yea i wouldnt rush into all that if I were you. if you want to keep it streetable, get the KB kit andsee how you like it. once you get used to driving with it and catch 'need more torque syndrome', then you can start considering a forged shortblock and all of that overpriced headwork. baby steps my friend, baby steps :p

YGM stang976, email me back at [email protected], think my stangnet email is my old SN..

guys this is going to be baby steps trust me. it will probably take me about 4 years to complete these mods on my car.

i just want to do it right. i plan on keeping my car for the long haul.

the kenny bell i know im going with, the heads are a must because i have that ticking noise that is driving me nuts and i think new heads might help.

my goal is to be around 400 hp to the wheels. again the hard part is doing this without effecting emissions.

maybe you guys can claer some things up for me.

compression depends on the heads, and that should stay low for the blower, right? the blower effects the a/f , but in what wasy? high or low. and does the compression have anything to do with the a/f? what is the setup between these things that i want to stay emissions legal and get the most power.

i wont raise the rev limiter if that will make things more difficult. the heads are stock pi that will be stage 1 p&p with stock pi cams. will that throw rhings off?

ok you have a Goal 400 rwhp... Come on are you sure... I thought mine would be 400 also but i soon realized that i need MORE... I am shooting for 9s and about 650-700 rwhp...
The order i did mine is Blower Procharger p1, Heads and cams, then i got the DSS Super MODular Short Block... i will hit for sure 650 at 20 psi... ScaryGt is putting down 530 with 15 psi... If you wanna pass em. then NO CAMS cams supposably make it to where u cant pass or somehthing... ride in a 03 Slobra and then rethink ou hp goal.. Get the KB 2.2L not the 1.7 goto www.modularmustangs.net and follow micheal KIDDs build up... it took me about: 4k short block 900 heads 2k supercharger 2k extra crap to make it work you do the math that is some money... My car is worth 9 i have 12k in the motor and tranny i also bought the tko 600

dallas thanks that is the kind of stuff im looking for, just others experiances and ideas. i know it is going to be alot. im looking at fox lake stage 1 about $1,200 + install? built engine kit 1,200 + install or the dss about 3,000 + install and kb +install and tune 5,500. i know it is going to be a ton of $, but this will be over the next 4 years.

if i do the built engine then i will go as much hp as i can with out messing with emissions. if i can get 500 then it will, but i probably wont go much beyond that. maybe 550 :D i know i am not going with cams that will be to much trouble to pass, i think i have enough on my plate.

anyone pass emissions with heads and a blower?????? i guess iwill talk to whoever i choose for the work about that.
