Guys w/ 18"x10" Rims

What rear tire are you all running?

I know 295/35s are a popular choice, anyone running 285's? Do they (285s) provide enough protection for the lip of the rim?

Also wondering what anyone thinks about Nittos 295/45/18 size. I know thats the same sidewall size as stock, but thats the only size Nitto offers in 295. I dont mind a bigger sidewall as long as it will fit into my wheel well. My car is recently lowered with H&R Sports. They also have 285/40's available.

Theres always the 295/35 BFG KDW2's, just wondering what some of you thought about a slightly bigger sidewall.

Any other brands, size siggestions? Links/Pics would help. Thanks hoes

I'm runnin 285 Pirellis on my 18x10 Saleens and I love em...I had 255s on my 17x9 cobra Rs and the sidewalls looked 'stretched' ya know? But thats definitely not the case w/ the 285s on 10s...

I've got 295/35/18's and thought the sidewall was kinda big on those. I cant imagine going to 45's. I think that might be ugly large sidewall and look funny. Maybe somebody has a pic and can post to see what it looks like.

I have 285-35 -18 sumitomos on my 18 x 10 rims and they are not wide enough, (I got curb rash),the 295's are much better, but on my saleen replicas the bfg 295's will scrape the fender lip and have, I have a small gash in one sidewall. (bfg's run wide) I just put the kdw2's on my front and I love them!!

You think BFG 285s would be wide enough w/o scraping the fender lip, sincethey do run wider?

And guys, if you have any real good pics of a straight side view of your rims/tire, whore em out for me

i have 285/35/18 Eagle F1's on 9.5 rear and they fit perfect...i'd go 295 min on a 10" rear and don't forget Nitto runs small.

My GF just ordered some 18x9/10 DD Black Bullitts for her ride and will be running 285/35/18's out back. Ive seen the setup before and it looks good. There's no need for her to spend extra money on 295's or 305's since she's just going for looks and its a v6.
On the other hand, if and when i upgrade to some 10" rims out back i'll be running either a 295 or 305 Drag Radial out back for traction, so its up to you, but 285's will work fine

I have 285/40-18's on 18x10. they are bfg kdw-2's they have enough lip protection.

I wanted to fill the fender gap a bit. have you found anyone who makes a 295-45 series? that is a 28.5 inch tire. that is getting big but I think it would fit in the rear. no way you can fit anything that tall in the front though.

I'm running 18x10's with 295/35's out rear. I will be upgrading to 315/30's BFG DR's in a couple of months.

I have 295/35-18 Yoko AVS Sports, they seem perfect. I had Saleens with 295/35-18 Kuhmo MXs, and they rubbed the fender lip. I dont think the Kuhmos were any wider, I just think it was the offset of the rim.

It has been raining all day so the stang is nasty as hell.

I like the idea of the 285/40/18 BFG KDW2s since they run wider, but Im also thinking about 295/35s. I guess I'll call the local ricer shop and see if they roll fenders.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 285's will fit just fine without any issues.

Helty, had you considered 17s at all? Only reason I say that is because of the big difference in tire price. 315s for $107? Hell yeah

Yes, I have. In fact I was set on 17s until I saw the rims I want on another Torch Red GT in 18", then I was like

They're not completely ruled out, but for some reason Im set on 18s.

the rolling of the fenders will only be required if you wanted it to be. if you run the normal wheel offset like mine there will be no rubbing. I could run a 295 if I wanted with ease. I went 285 because I wanted to run a bit more sidewall with the 40 series.

now if you want the tire to be flush with the fender and run wheel spacers or a more positive offset then you may need to roll them.
