H/C/I install Q's

ok well i just orderd my trickflow stage one cam so now i've got the h/c/i these will probably go in later this month, is there anything else i need should buy so i am only doing all of this once?? the heads are loaded with springs new pushrods and rockers i dont remember who i bought the heads off of but as far as i know the pushrods are the right length what should they be so i can check??

It sometimes depends on the rocker and head combo......but for what it's worth stock is 6.25".....it should be too far off that.

you have all the gaskets? you still have stock heads on now? if so you more then likely have the stock head bolts. those have to go and youll want some arp head studs.

Or bolts. If you run studs and you ever have to pull the heads for a particular reason, you have to pull the engine too.

what!! since when you do have to pull the motor just to take the heads off if you have head studs? ive pulled my heads withough touching the head studs and the stock block has never left the engine bay since the day it was dropped in.

the top end kit comes with 6.7" pushrods i believe. If you look at the kit contents at the summit web sit you can look at the kit contents and it will have the length.

I heard it on Horsepower TV.....I don't actually have experience with them. They must've been talking about a specific engine then, sorry for the misunderstanding.

you had me worried for a sec. thought there was something different about my car. ya, must have been on a specific motor or something cause the head studs get put in before the heads. so that means there has to be enough room for the heads to slide on and off while the studs are in place.

ok so arp kits for heads and intake bolts anything else?? should i change timing set and lifters while im in there?? do they make an all in one kit for h/i anyone go tthe p/n handy??

Get a new timing set for sure. You can re-use the lifters, but now would be a good time to change them if they have a lot of miles on them
