plus you always have the same amount of coolant flow it's not alot more at WOT and not enough at idle it's always the same....My boss put one on his 78 Impala and loves it.
i find that very hard to believe but in any case. . . . the meziere electric water pump was pretty much free to me!86bluecobra said:you know the difference between a electric water pump and UD pulleys is 1 hp. they have done tests. waste of cash on the electric water pump for the hp gain.

Agreed, and im trying to come from and unbiased standpoint, but at 6000 rpms i find it very hard to believe there is only a 1hp gain. Plus i think my waterpump has something to do with the cooling system problems i have been having latelyBlk91stang said:At what rpm were these tests done? idle? 6,000rpms? I find it hard to believe the water pump only draws 1hp to turn at 6,000 rpm, unless i'm reading this wrong.
The biggest benefit of an electric water pump I have found is being able to turn the pump on with the car off to cool the motor down quick in between passes at the track or anytime for that matter. Also it increases cooling at idle which is when most people have cooling problems.
Sounds like a worthwhile investment for me depending on the application.
How much can be gained ? I know it probably vaired from application to application!stangjunkie said:again take a look at a custom cam might be worth it
) you could take the heads and have them milled and use a thinner head gasket for more compression, you would of course have to check clearance.
maybe i should just go on a diet to omprove my times....bluevenom867 said:(at your speed its closer to 80lbs for a 1/10).
Yes im still running a dual planebluevenom867 said:2v,you still runing a dual plane intake?
Go look on Ebay or racingjunk.com and find a good used Victor Jr. or a Funnel Web,thats the first thing you should do.
You got the tfs stage 3 cam now right? A custom might pick you up some more power, but you dont have a bad cam now.Maybe it would like some retard, you got a adjustable timing chain? Try retarding it alittle and check clearance.
What about exhaust? If you still got shortes,go to long tubes.
Heads would help you out,but if you dont want to put out the cash (I could see why, your almost going 10's on factroy type heads) you could take the heads and have them milled and use a thinner head gasket for more compression, you would of course have to check clearance.
Then of course, there the simplist way, more nitrous
If your only spaying a 150hp shot now,you can go to a 180hp or 220hp if you got a a NOS Cheater,I dont know what the other brands use,but they must be comperable.
Oh,and the factroy jetting.....its very rich,if you got a fuel pressure regulator for your kit,try playing around with fuel psi.
And wieght is a huge factor,I dunno how much interior and accessories you want, but droping wiegth will help (at your speed its closer to 80lbs for a 1/10).
A victor jr is 1st on the list! Yes i have an adjustable timing chain, i might check into retarding it some, I have long tubes and love them, The c9s have already been milled and angle milled so i dont know how much more i want to go on them with a flat top probe piston, but im glad someone else can see why i dont want to dish out 1300$ on a set of heads! My nitrous kit is good up to a 250 shot, so that up'ing the nitrous is always an option. I just think my block and i are going to have to come to a cross roads on that option though
So you dont think the cam i have now is hurting me at all? About 150 more pounds is coming off the car this winterModular2v said:So you dont think the cam i have now is hurting me at all? About 150 more pounds is coming off the car this winter

yeah i know , i know.....maybe c4 will be the way to go in the future, but im honestly just having too much fun with the car right now!!! I run 104 in the car when i spray that should be enough to suffice *bluevenom867 said:I didnt say that exactly,it could probably use some more duration and the lobe seperation angle might be better somewere else, but it shouldnt be holding you back is what I meant. Look into retarding it a little, that usualy will give you more power in the upper range with out loosing to much torque (witch you dont need a whole lot anyhow cause you got some crazy first gear....nutty shick shift-guyslol).
Dont be afraid of some more juice my man,as long as your runing some good fuel (.70 or better spec gravity,or if it nitrous specific) and take out 3* per 100hp you will be fine.
Little less than i would have guessed but i hope your right!!!! That gives me more room to spray without endangering the block. . . . which really is my main concern at this pointbluevenom867 said:Close to 400-425hp at the wheels on juice Id say.

I would say venom is very close to the mark. I threw your mph and 1/4 mile time and wieght of your car in a calculator and cam up with 426 rwhp. Basically the same hp as my car on juice but i wieght 300 lbs more.bluevenom867 said:Close to 400-425hp at the wheels on juice Id say.
