Had a hose off the water pump go today. have cooling system/flushing questions

coming out of the bank i noticed there was a little puddle of coolant under my car. well sure enough one of the hoses off of the water pump to the t-stat housing had a crack and it was leaking. luckily it was right down the street and i drove home.

well i got all the hoses off (4) on the and i figured i would replace them all since they all dont look great. the two hoses on the t-stat housing were like corroded on there so i had to take the housing off. (lots of fun ). before i didnt know what t-stat i had, and i looked at it and it says 330-180, so thats a 180 right?

i need to know how to properly flush this thing.
The radiator i know you get the flushing additive and flush it out with a hose. (all the coolant is already drain in a oil holder thing) my haynes manual says the heater core needs to be backflushed. how the hell do i do that? and i guess there are two plugs in the block that i have to pull too.

so pretty much i need to know how to flush the system.

oh yea, where is the drain plug for the radiator that you can hook a hose to? i drained all the coolant that i could by taking the bottom hose off.

there should be a drain plug/fitting on the pass side of the radiator towards the car. Either pull the plug, or screw the fitting in and it drains Now, the consensus is that you will not get those friggin plugs out of the block...several have tried and had no luck - they're stuck after years of heating up, cooling down, etc. By the way, the hose goes in the radiator neck(where the cap goes).

What I was instructed to do was to fill it up w/ water, drive it so the t-stat opens, go home, let it cool off, drain all you can--drain the rad. via the plug and also pull the hose(you can drain it all from the hose, but that's sometimes messy). Fill it back up, drive, drain, and keep doing this until it starts draining clear.

You might consider running a distilled water/anti-freeze mix as tap water causes corrosion and junk in the rad; however, run what you want. You can get a 3 gallon case of distilled water at wal-mart for like $1.80 or something, so you might spend $10 on water for the whole process.

well i guess i must have a non-stock radiator. ive looked twice now and there is no drain plug

now if i use water wetter, coolant/antifreeze, and water how will i be able to correctly mix that. or how would i correctly mix 50/50 w/o using premixed coolant?
