Well, today's probably one of the worst days of my life. My dog, my best friend of 9 years, had to be put to sleep. He was acting sluggish lately and wasn't exactly breathing right, so we brought him to a vet who sent us to a better facility to see what was wrong. It turns out his body was covered, COVERED in cancer: Spine, spleen, liver, stomach etc., he had an enlarged heart and his lungs were filling up with fluid. I dropped my mom off at the pet hospital in Red Bank this morning figuring they would simply diagnose him, then I got a call that he had to be put down. I was stuck in Manhattan until 11, and up until then I was fine. But once I walked in the house and saw his empty bed, a doggy biscuit on the floor and his empty cage, I lost it. I went out to forget about it and it worked, until I came home again. I even went down in my basement to get on my laptop and I looked next to me to pet him, and for the first time in a long time, he's not there. I've lost loved ones before (All my Grandparents, some close friends, cousins, aunts & uncles etc.), but never have I lost one that I saw everyday like I did my dog. Anyone else go through this and feel like complete crap? I can't believe it happened so quickly, just 5 days ago he seemed fine. Sorry, but I needed to vent somewhere... mods delete it if it bothers you that much.
