Swap a different motor in to my car last week. Now the brake pedal is hard after the first time I hit them. Is this normal? I didn't have this problem with the 347 last year.

New set up is stock bottem end with TFS 1 cam ,1.6RR, tri state al heads 170cc intake runners, and pro products intake.

make sure your brake boost is getting vacuum. sounds like a vac issues to me. spray carb cleaner around and see if you can find a leak. after working on or swapping a motor its pretty easy to overlook something simple.

with that cam you should pull more than enough vac to operate the brakes properly.

good luck.

Got the car in the shop this morning. At idle it only has 4inch's vac. and 13inch's at 1500rpm. I double checked all the vac. line. Car only has power brakes, one for fuel pressure regulator, heater controls and pcv. I sprayed starting fluid at all the intake gaskets nothing changed. Idles at about 800rpm.

This motor had a holley systemax on it before and didn't have this problem. I'm going to check it out a little more after work.
