Hard Starting and idle problems

So here the deal just got my 5.0 out of storage and put back together. The list of fixing and modding was pretty long, but to say the less the timing was nowhere close to correct. Now that its all back together it has a hard time starting and when it does start it idles at 3500+ (usally shut it down before it gets to where it stops). When I put it back together I lined everything up for TDC.
List of changes
TF Street Heat upper and lower plus adapter
BBK 75 TB
FR Water pump
New Timing Chain
New HB Pulley
New Timing Cover
MSD Dizzy
CAI custom built

Other than that somewhat stock

Have you tried to pull codes? Pretty much a crap shoot without some diagnostic input other than hard to start and high idle and not knowing what was touched and/or altered.

I would also be sure the throttle is not stuck (either the blade or the cable) and look for a large unconnected vacuum hose.

Did some playing last night. Need to reset the throttle body, but it doesn't seem to be catching. Would try to pull codes, but the engine revs so fast that I have to kill it before it gets to hard to controll. Also put a jump pack on the battery and took care of the hard start and now I am just dealing with the high idle. When I get a chance I am going to check the vacuum lines.

You can still pull EO and M codes with the car off (key on).

Not certain what you mean by "reset throttle body". Did you mean reset idle? For it to be idling that high would indicate the throttle is open or the TPS sensor is sending a signal that corresponds to an open throttle. With the engine off, test the signal voltage from the TPS sensor. It should be about 1v. I would do this before anything else.

What I meant by reset was backing everything off and putting it back in stock place, which did point out the promblem. I feel like a dumb S*** on this one, but the cruise cable was holding the plate just a little open take off cable and idles normal now
